What is the maximum character length for sending SMS?

 

The maxmimum length of SMS is 160 characters.

 

The handling of SMS longer than 160 characters can be configured in the settings of the SMS Gateway.

 

This setting can be found under Configuration - SIM-Card. You can choose between Multipart and Split.

 

If Multipart is selected, SMS with more than 160 characters will be send as one SMS.

 

If Split is selected, SMS with more than 160 characters will be split to multiple SMS.
